If you can only file one trademark, file the name. A wordmark protects the word itself, in any font, any colour, any layout. A logo registration protects the logo you have today, which is not the logo you will have in three years.

Government fee — paid by you at actuals
Form TM-A is ₹4,500 per class for individuals, startups and small enterprises and ₹9,000 per class for everyone else, per mark per class, paid at actuals. The fifty per cent concession needs a valid Udyam registration or DPIIT recognition certificate attached AT THE TIME OF FILING — it cannot be claimed later. If you do not have one, ask us first: Udyam takes a day and saves ₹4,500 per class.
Every price above is a professional fee, excluding GST and government charges. 50% on delivery.
All fees and charges listed are indicative only and do not constitute a binding offer. Final amounts may vary depending on the volume of work and the complexity involved.
The register checked for identical and similar marks in your class and adjacent classes, including phonetic equivalents, which is what the examiner searches. Plus common law use that could oppose you.
45 classes under the Nice Classification. File in what you sell now and what you will sell in the next few years, because adding a class later means a fresh application with a later priority date.
Filed with the Udyam or DPIIT certificate attached where the concession applies. You get a TM number immediately and can use ™ from that day.
Examination report in 3 to 8 months, objection reply within 30 days if one comes, journal publication, a four-month opposition window, then the certificate.
Tell us your requirement, a CA will call you in 30 minutes.
A wordmark follows the word wherever it goes. A device mark is tied to that specific graphic, so a competitor using your name in a different visual treatment may fall outside it.
Word and logo together as one gives protection over the combination, which is narrower than either element alone. It is the most common mistake founders make.
Coined words are strongest, arbitrary next, suggestive fine. Descriptive needs proved acquired distinctiveness. Generic is never registrable. Worth reading before you buy the domain.
It is free, takes a day, and the concession cannot be claimed retrospectively. Filing a two-class wordmark without checking Udyam status costs you ₹9,000 unnecessarily.
It costs a day. Filing without one is how founders end up paying for an objection reply, then an opposition defence, then a rebrand.
Use ™ from the day you file. Using ® before the mark is registered is itself an offence.
