Government fee — paid by you at actuals

Form CSR-1 carries no MCA filing fee. The government fee is nil. What the form does require is a Digital Signature Certificate of the authorised signatory and certification by a practising Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary or Cost Accountant — both mandatory, which is why this form cannot be self-filed.

Every price above is a professional fee, excluding GST and government charges. 50% upfront, 50% on delivery.

All fees and charges listed are indicative only and do not constitute a binding offer. Final amounts may vary depending on the volume of work and the complexity involved.

How it works

Step 1

Eligibility check, before you pay

An implementing agency not established by the funding company itself needs 12A and 80G registration and an established track record of at least three years in similar activities. We check both first.

Step 2

Close the gaps

Missing 80G is the single most common blocker. A newly formed independent Section 8 company cannot receive CSR funds this way until it has a three-year track record, unless it was established by a company; and no entity holding 12A but not 80G qualifies.

Step 3

File CSR-1

Prepared, signed with the authorised signatory’s DSC, and certified by a practising CA, CS or CMA. Both are mandatory on this form.

Step 4

CSR Registration Number

Issued by the MCA on approval. Companies quote it when reporting spend under Section 135, which is why they will not disburse without it.

Why CorporateWalla®?

It is binary

Rule 4(2) of the Companies (CSR Policy) Rules, as amended in 2021, requires every entity intending to undertake CSR activity to register in Form CSR-1 with effect from 1 April 2021. Without the number, companies cannot report the spend.

Government fee: nil

Form CSR-1 carries no MCA filing fee at all. The cost is professional certification and preparation, nothing else.

Four entity types can file

Section 8 companies, registered public trusts, registered societies, and entities established under an Act of Parliament or a State legislature.

12A and 80G are both required

For an NGO-type agency, holding one without the other does not qualify you. From 1 April 2026 these registrations sit in Sections 332 and 354 of the Income-tax Act, 2025, and existing 12A and 80G approvals continue. If 80G is missing, that is the first job, and we handle it alongside CSR-1 on the Growth plan.

Three years of track record

An independent NGO needs at least three years of track record in similar activities. A newly formed one qualifies only if it was established by a company, alone or with others, and holds 12A and 80G; entities set up by the government or under a statute follow their own category. Knowing which applies before you spend on the filing is the point of the free eligibility assessment.

Eligible is not the same as visible

CSR-1 makes you eligible to receive funds. It does not put you in front of companies looking to spend. The organisations that do well maintain project documentation and impact reporting a corporate CSR committee can take to its board.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Rule 4(2) requires registration in Form CSR-1 from 1 April 2021, and companies cannot report spend routed to an unregistered agency.
