An IFSC is the 11-character code that identifies a bank branch for NEFT, RTGS and IMPS transfers. Type an IFSC to see its branch, or pick a bank, state and district to find the code. 92,741 branches of 1,206 banks are listed, free to use with no sign-up.
Or find an IFSC by bank and branch
Take SBIN0001234 as an example of the format:
| Part | Example | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Characters 1–4 | SBIN | The bank (here, State Bank of India) |
| Character 5 | 0 | Always zero, kept free for future use |
| Characters 6–11 | 001234 | The branch; letters or digits |
Some co-operative banks do not have their own prefix and use a sponsor bank's instead, for example codes starting HDFC0C… or YESB0… issued to member co-operative banks. The branch pages here name the co-operative bank itself.
Opening a business current account?
Banks usually ask for proof of the business: a GST certificate, an incorporation certificate or Udyam registration. CorporateWalla's CA team handles these, and keeps your books reconciled to the bank every month.
Also useful: TDS calculator, GST late fee calculator and EMI calculator.
Branch details come from the RBI's published list of NEFT/RTGS-enabled branches, as compiled in open datasets (the Razorpay IFSC dataset and the indian-bank-details package, both MIT-licensed). Closed and merged branches are removed using Razorpay's list of currently valid IFSCs. Last rebuilt 2026-10-11. Banks merge and relocate branches, so confirm the IFSC with your bank, a cheque leaf or your passbook before a high-value transfer. CorporateWalla is not a bank and is not affiliated with any bank listed here.
