How many locations hold stock, and is each one configured?
Noida setups are shaped by physical stock in multiple places. A manufacturing or warehousing business here typically holds inventory across a production unit, a finished goods store and sometimes a third-party facility, often with a GSTIN held purely because stock sits in Uttar Pradesh for an entity headquartered in Delhi. Each location has to exist in the system, and each registration has to be configured.
Whether stock lives in Zoho at all, given the manufacturing depth, and if it does, how locations and the GSTINs attached to them are structured. A registration held only because stock is warehoused still files monthly returns and still needs its stock records maintained, so it cannot be treated as an administrative formality in the setup.
Books with Inventory where multi-location stock is genuinely in scope, or Books alone with inventory retained in Tally where batch tracking and job work are material. Multiple GSTINs configured whatever the stack.
The point that catches contract manufacturers here is that stock records are a tax exposure rather than an operational nicety. Goods not accounted for can be treated as having been supplied and taxed accordingly, so a location that exists physically but not in the system creates a gap that grows every month. Configuring every stock location at setup, including third-party facilities, is what makes the monthly reconciliation possible at all. A system that knows about two of your three locations cannot be reconciled, and nobody discovers that until the first difference appears.
Before anything else on this page, take thirty seconds and check where your books actually are. Log into Zoho Books and read the address bar: zoho.in is the India data centre, zoho.com is the United States, zoho.eu is Europe. The region was fixed when the organisation was created and Zoho does not replicate data across regions, so that is genuinely where your books live, backups included. An Indian business that signed up through a global link, or whose organisation was created by a consultant abroad, can be running entirely in a United States data centre while assuming otherwise. Since 1 April 2026 the country of storage is a disclosed item in the tax audit report, and changing region afterwards is a migration rather than a setting.

Yes, including third-party facilities. Goods not accounted for can be treated as supplied and taxed, so a location that exists physically but not in the system creates an exposure that compounds. A setup that knows about two of your three locations cannot be reconciled at month end, and the gap is usually found when a difference appears rather than when the location was omitted.
Yes. Every registration files its own monthly GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B whether or not it generated sales, has its own IMS position, and needs stock records for goods held there. It also counts towards your plan tier, since plan choice is driven by GSTIN count. A registration that feels dormant operationally is fully live for compliance and has to be configured accordingly.
Not to the depth a job work operation needs. Material sent out and returned, with the stock remaining yours throughout and the movement tracked within the prescribed timelines, is handled better in Tally. For a Noida contract manufacturer the arrangement that usually works is financials and GST in Zoho Books with job work and batch-tracked inventory left where it functions, and we will recommend that rather than force a single platform.
